        After heat treatment, the shrinkage of polyester yarn is up to 20% ~ 50% or even 70%.  

        High orientation, low crystallization, melting point, relative density, strength are slightly lower than ordinary polyester, but does not affect the textile processing.If it is blended with wool, the handle, elasticity and wool feeling of the fabric can be improved effectively after post-treatment.Interweave with other synthetic or natural fibers that do not shrink to give the fabric a concave and convex feeling.
        The high shrinkage fiber made of copolyester has good dyeability and anti-pilling property.
        There are two types of manufacturing methods:
        1. chemical modification methods include: (1) when polyester is synthesized with dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and glycol (EG) as raw materials, a third monomer such as dimethyl phthalate (DMI) or 1, 3 dimethyl terephthalate 5-sulfonic acid group (SDMI) is added for transesterification and condensation polymerization to obtain copolyester;(2) in the use of DMT, DMI and EG copolymerization, adding the fourth monomer to get copolyester.
        2. physical modification method, including: (1) high speed spinning with ordinary polyester chips at 3000 ~ 3200m/min and drawing at low temperature and low ratio;(2) ordinary polyester undrawn wire in the low temperature of 50 ~ 70ºC for stretching, and then use 40ºC water quenching.Can be used in wool spinning, yarn-dyed and knitted products, also can be made into artificial leather cloth, artificial suede.
