Sea island composite fiber:
a composite fiber formed by uniformly embedding the dispersed phase polymer in the continuous phase polymer. The dispersed phase polymer is discontinuously distributed along the longitudinal direction of the fiber in the form of microfibril, which is called matrix microfibril type; Dispersed in bars is called dispersed type and lotus root core type. The two-phase polymer with similar and different properties is called bicomponent island fiber. Fiber has many unique properties, such as hygroscopicity, antistatic, temperature and light discoloration, dyeability, flame retardancy and so on. The two polymers are melted separately or mixed, and the island phase becomes a filament shape after high-power tensile and shear deformation in the spinning process. The resulting composite fiber can also become a high shrinkage fiber with good physical properties through reasonable tensile and heat treatment. Dissolve the sea phase of the island fiber, leaving a bundle of Microfiber with a size of 0.01 ~ 0.2 denier. If the island phase is removed, it can be made into hollow fiber. Sea island fiber can be used to make artificial suede, filter materials, non-woven fabrics and all kinds of knitwear and woven fabrics.
